Core Mechanics

Hats sit in a single equipment slot and apply passive effects while equipped. Stat boosts range from modest damage increases to game-changing effects like the Pixel Crown's cooldown halving. Hats do not stack — only the currently equipped hat applies — so swapping hats at vendors or save points is the only way to change your build mid-run. Some hats are tied to specific biomes or bosses; others are gated behind exploration milestones such as collecting every Lore Tablet.

Advantages

Hats let you tune your build for the encounter at hand — the Beehive Helmet for AoE crowds, the Pixel Crown for ability-spam builds, the Bucket Helm for survivability.
